The so-called "Brasilhaus" in the Schnoor is Bremen's oldest residential building. It was built in 1402. At the beginning of the 19th century the owner of the house named it, after the famous cigars from Brazil, the Bremer Brasilhaus, and sold so-called colonial goods on the ground floor.
